WELCOME TO BLOOMERY FORGE WRITERS’ GROUP

In 1750, Valentine Holyfield set up his bloomery forge in the foothills of North Carolina’s fabled Blue Ridge. Here, foundry men wrested iron from its ore and molded it into ingots. From these blooms of iron came the tools that tamed a wilderness—inspired by need and fashioned with the end in mind.

In 2005, Valentine’s descendants, Mary Hicks and Brenda Nesbitt, founded Bloomery Forge, a corps of writers crafting brand-fired advertising and story-rich content. Like our ancestor, we are acquainted with the white heat and hammer’s clang of business—and the need to get it right on the first swing.
